SPECIFICATIONS
The MT-3000 is an extremely reliable, heavy duty motorized mechanis designed for elevating large arrays of VHF or UHF antennas. In most applications the unit provides a full 180 degrees of rotation, which means the array can be completely inverted for easier assembly, disassembly and maintenance of the upper bays. The final drive ratio is a powerful 19307:1 producing 4500 in/lbs of torque for smooth, controlled and consistent movement. A magnetically actuated reed switch mounted to the motor shaft provides pulses for readout and control functions of M2's digital, programmable control units. Target accuracy is better than 1/2 degree. The Manual Control Unit features digital display, reverse delay, variable speeds, and programmable travel limits. The Programmable unit has all manual features plus manual heading preset, 4 programmable heading presets, programmable ramped start-stop, and RS232 port for computer control. A rackmount version is also available with separate control modules for azimuth and elevation positioners. The MT-3000 accepts round "H" frame crossbooms from 3" up to 5". Larger diameters and triangular tower sections can also be used with optional mounting brackets, although towers may limit rotation to less than 180°. The unit mounts to 2" to 3" masts with larger sizes accomodated by special order. Masts can extend above the unit but will limit rotation to a bit over 90°. The MT-3000 features heavy welded steel construction and is gold zinc plated. The 24" diameter drive ring is chain driven by a rugged, outdoor-duty 1255:1 gear motor. A 9 tooth #40 sprocket mounts to the 3/4" dia. double bearing supported output shaft and, through two idler sprockets, drives a #40 chain attached to both ends of the drive ring. The mechanism itself weighs 65 lb. and can be shipped by UPS in two boxes of 69, and 10 lbs. MT-3000 units are in service around the world with ZERO mechanical failures to date. Mil-type units have also been produced for the US Air Force and NASA for shuttle and satellite communication. Stop fighting mechanical and readout problems. An MT-3000 will let you concentrate on communication, not tracking! |
