HF MULTIBAND ANTENNAS
The Heart of these products is the ”KT” series. “KT” stands for KILLER TRIBANDER so named by the first few experienced amateurs who Beta tested the design! Designed originally in 1978, while at KLM electronics, this spectacular design holds it own with any of the multibanders on the market today. In 1998-9 the KT34A and the KT34XA were computer analyzed and tweaked for better performance than the original empirically designed versions. The gain on all three bands was upped by a full 1 dB and the front to back now exceeds 20 db across every band. The “new” KT34M2 and the KT36XA still sell well and perform even better than ever.
Something new is in the “coming attractions” list. Final design work on a WARC (30m, 17M and 12M) series of tribander is underway and soon at least 3 models, a dipole (for cramped space) and a 2 and 3 element version will be available. The WARC Series uses a totally unique melding of schemes to maintain great efficiency and gain while remaining manageable for both mounting and pocket book. The longest element is just 29 ft long!
When one finally tires of tweaking amplifiers and antenna tuners for VSWR, the famous Log Periodic antenna comes to mind. You want bandwidth and a single feedline, these antennas offer it all in spades. If you like to listen to foreign broadcasts from rare places or just your homeland, this antenna is unbeatable. It can hold its own in any pileup and you can rag chew till your jaw drops off. No tuning worries here! No maintenance worries as our logs are designed and built to commercial standards and many are used by our military and embassy’s around the world.
